Cambridge Historic Renovation
This 1890s Mansard-roofed Second Empire home had great historic character but was in dire need of a complete renovation. The structure was outdated, and the interior layout no longer suited modern living. To restore its grandeur while bringing it into the present, the home underwent a full gut renovation, reimagining the interior spaces for contemporary comfort while meticulously preserving its historic charm.
The result is a seamless blend of past and present—a thoughtfully modernized interior housed within a beautifully restored historic exterior. The careful preservation work earned the project a Historic Preservation Award from the Cambridge Historic Society, recognizing its dedication to maintaining the architectural heritage of the neighborhood.
In addition to revitalizing the original home, a second residence was built at the rear of the lot, adding thoughtful density to the property. [Learn more about that project here.]
